Today in my lesson with first block, we played a game called Jailbreak.  One of the other PE classes was in the gym at the same time, therefore I taught both classes the game and my class faced off with the other.  The more and more we played the game, the more participation I got out of my class.  The other class seemed to really enjoy the game also, mostly because they were winning.  I had a few students wanting to play something else, because they said their team wasn’t winning.  I accepted that as a success, because they cared whether they were winning or losing and they were trying as well as participating.  The students from the day before that had a problem participating, definitely participated today.  My advanced PE class really enjoyed the activity and many said they would like to play it again.  The rest of the classes enjoyed the activity also and they all said they would want to play the game again.  In fourth block, I taught the class about the meanings of the colors in traffic sings.  A PowerPoint presentation was provided and each student had to complete a pre-test for traffic signs.

Reflection:

The day at school went really well.  I had complete control of the complete lesson whether it was in the gym or in the classroom.  Surprisingly, the students were quiet as mice and seemed to pay really great attention when I was giving instructions.  I’m hoping that today wasn’t the calm before the storm.
