I ran the first block class through a warm up before we went outside for a decathlon activity.  The activity consisted of one lap, five pushups, ten sit-ups, fifteen jumping jacks, ten body squats, five burpees, ten lunges, five jump squats, ten knee tucks, and steps.  The class was separated into two teams and the first team to complete all activities together won.  The losing team had to do fifteen pushups.  The teams could not move on to the next activity until everyone completed the activity provided.  I decided to do this activity with all three classes.

Reflection:

In first block, we had a group of boys that were not trying at all during the activity.  At the end of the activity, I spoke with the boys and asked them what type of activities they enjoyed doing so that I can get them to participate.  I told them that I would use suggestions for future lessons if they agreed to participate.  I was complimented by my host teacher on how I handled it, and all we can do is hope they took the conversation we had seriously then apply it in future lessons.
